Why
Should I Adopt? |
| By The Pet Scouters Team |
Don’t
discriminate against shelter pets. They may be a little scuffed
up, but they are pets to. There are over 1,000,000 homeless
pets in the United States. Unfortunately a large portion
of these pets will never know what it feels like to be loved.
Instead they will be put to sleep and life will end as they
know it. And so the saga will continue. But you can
play a huge role in helping these pets find a home before
it is too late. If you are looking for a pet you should consider
adopting first. There many types of pets in the adoption
centers. Some are pure breed and some are mixed aka designer
breeds. So finding a desired pet will not be as hard as you
may think. |
| Pros |
Let’s
face it; overspending is not economical these days. So when
adopting a pet you can save a lot of money and still come
out on top. More than likely you will find a suitable pet
for your needs and it will benefit you and the adopted pet
as well. Another good reason to adopt is the impact it has
on the environment and animal welfare. If you are looking
for ways to help improve the earth then you can start with
providing a home for a homeless pet. |
| Cons |
However
there are things to consider when adopting a pet, because
there will be emotional baggage in most cases. Pets are very
smart and remember more than we think. We are not going to
tell you that it is easy to adopt a pet. You will have to
be patient with your adopted pet and show a lot of love in
order to gain that pet’s trust and loyalty. And this
may take some time. But in the end if you do decide to adopt,
you will feel much rewarded because you saved another animals
life, which is priceless. |
| One
More Thing |
You
do not have to always adopt pets from a shelter. Look for
pet adoptions in pet classified ads as well. Sometimes owners
may give away their pets for free or very low prices. Adopting
pets from owners is a great alternative. You can ask more
questions and get a basic understanding of how to care for
the pet and how the pet behaves. For the most part you are
still contributing to the care of all animals by providing
a loving home. There are many options when it comes to adopting
a pet. So before you go out and buy a pet, please consider
adopting. Don’t worry you will not be disappointed
in what you find. |
